A travel cot is easier to choose when you know how often you will carry it and where you will set it up. Check the packed dimensions as well as the open size.
Compact or Siesta?
Britton Compact travel cot weighs 9.5 kg and comes with a carry bag. Britton Siesta travel cot weighs 13 kg and adds two sleeping levels, wheels with brakes and a mosquito net. Both product pages list open dimensions of 124.5 × 64.5 × 78 cm and packed dimensions of 23 × 23 × 78 cm. Compact may be easier to carry; Siesta offers additional features if those fit your routine.
Look beyond the weight limit
Both list a maximum child weight of 15 kg at the lower level. Siesta's upper level has a separate 6.8 kg limit. Weight is not the only stopping rule: follow the full instructions for developmental limits, including sitting, pulling up and climbing.
Check the mattress separately
Use only a mattress approved by the travel cot manufacturer. Follow the cot instructions and ask Speli if you are unsure. Never stack mattresses or add extra padding.
Practice before leaving
Assemble the cot at home, check every lock and make sure the sleep surface is firm, flat and clear. Choose a suitable position away from cords and heat sources. Follow the same safer-sleep routine away from home.
