Use a familiar toy for short finding and returning games. Make success easy and finish when your dog loses interest.

Find a familiar toy

Show your dog the toy and place it nearby in view. Say “find” and praise them for approaching it. Once this is familiar, put it in an easy spot, such as beside a chair.

Use only safely accessible places. Do not encourage climbing or squeezing between furniture. Help if needed and make the next attempt easier.

Try short returns

Place or gently throw the toy a short distance away. Invite your dog back and praise the return, using a second toy for exchange if useful. Some dogs prefer carrying, while others simply investigate; the game need not be a perfect fetch exercise.

Offer a choice

Present two intact, suitable toys and play with the one your dog chooses. Preferences may change. Never force a dog to take a new toy.

Rotate shared-play toys

Put some toys away for a while and reintroduce them later. Check seams and protruding parts before each return to use.

Balance play and rest

Keep games short and allow time to settle. Indoor games complement walks and other activity; they do not replace daily movement or rest. Let your dog stop when they walk away.

Supervise soft-toy play. If your dog tears fabric or removes parts, end the activity and choose something more suitable.

PuppyToys toys

PuppyToys mallard duck, 47 cm →

PuppyToys mallard duck, 36 cm →

PuppyToys octopus, 40.6 cm →

How to choose a toy for your dog →

Soft dog toys: play, carrying and chewing →

Gentle tug and fetch games with your dog →

View all PuppyToys toys →

All dog toy advice →

Izmēģini vienkāršas meklēšanas un atnešanas spēles vai ļauj sunim izvēlēties, ar kuru rotaļlietu spēlēties.

[6,167

post-1450","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-dog","category-dog-toys
["GET
