A soft toy can be a pleasant companion for carrying, searching and shared games. Suitability depends on behaviour: one dog may keep it intact for a long time, while another damages it quickly.<\/p>\n

Play and prolonged chewing are different<\/h2>\n

Holding, carrying and light squeezing can be part of play. Repeated chewing on one spot, pulling seams or tearing material can quickly damage a soft toy. Do not provide it for unrestricted chewing.<\/p>\n

PuppyToys soft toys are for play. Reinforced seams improve durability but cannot guarantee that a dog will not tear them.<\/p>\n

Watch the first games<\/h2>\n

Stay nearby and notice which parts your dog holds. If they pull at a beak, wing or other protruding part, end the game calmly. Offer an appropriate toy or treat in exchange rather than forcibly pulling a damaged toy away.<\/p>\n

Give play a beginning and an end<\/h2>\n

Keep shared-play toys for times when you can supervise. Put them away afterwards and let your dog settle. Rotate toys occasionally to renew interest.<\/p>\n

When to choose another activity<\/h2>\n

If your dog repeatedly destroys soft toys or tries to swallow parts, choose a product intended for their way of using it. Check tougher toys too: no toy suits every dog.<\/p>\n

Take damaged toys out of use<\/h2>\n

An open seam, hole or loose part means play should stop. If you suspect your dog has swallowed part of a toy, contact your vet promptly rather than waiting for symptoms.<\/p>\n
